After you change every question to one type, the menu keeps that type. When the questions use more than one type, it shows “(Mixed)”, and a note says how many were changed.

The screen now looks like a practice notebook
The page is white, with ink-black text and lines. Corners are smaller, and the soft shadows are gone.
The top bar and the Edit / Preview / Answers switch sit flat, separated by a hairline, instead of floating as pills.
The main buttons are green. Red stays on the answers of the printed sheet, and is no longer used for buttons or notices.
What you can make, and how you use it, stays the same.
The screen kept on this device is replaced with the notebook look when you load the update.

Save tests on this device, and open them offline
You can save a test (from a grade, from your own questions, or from a photo or AI) or a stroke-order sheet on this device, under a name. Leave the name empty and it uses the date, grade, and count.
Saved tests can be opened, renamed, duplicated for editing, deleted (after a confirmation), and printed again. A copy keeps the same question types.
The saved list can be exported as a file, to move to another device or to keep a backup. Files exported before still open as they used to.
The screen shows how much is stored on this device. If there is no room left, it says so and does not throw away what you already saved.
You can add the site to your home screen and open it like an app. After the first visit it works without a network. When a new version is ready, a button offers to load it.

Letter paper, an English screen, and a cleaner layout
Paper size now includes US Letter, portrait and landscape, for both tests and stroke-order practice sheets.
Text, answer boxes, and the source note stay inside a margin that home printers can actually print, on Letter and on A4.
The print hint now says what to do if the page size does not match or the edges are cut off (margins “None”, scale 100%).
Fixed a bug where choosing “15 questions” could switch back to 10 after reopening the page.
Fixed a bug where reopening the page could leave the stroke-order preview and show the test sheet instead (Safari).
The screen can be switched between Japanese and English. In Japan, Japanese is selected at first. The choice is remembered on this device. Kanji, readings, and example sentences stay as they are.
Outside Japan, a first visit starts on Letter portrait. A paper size you already chose is kept.
On a wide screen, the paper size stays next to the preview.
The “questions made” notice now sits where it does not cover the page, and it disappears on its own after a few seconds.
When the answer boxes would become smaller than about 6.5 mm, the sheet continues on the next page instead of shrinking them.
Added a sample picture of a finished 15-question sheet.
On a wide screen, the sheet buttons, paper size, zoom, and Print stay on one row. On a narrow screen they wrap in a tidy stack.
The opening heading breaks at a natural place, in Japanese and in English.
The small pictures on the question-type cards stay inside their frames.
“Saved on this device” now uses the same kind of letters as the buttons, and it no longer wraps onto a second line.
On an English sheet, the grade, date, name, and score lines no longer crowd the title.
On a narrow screen, the site name, the language switch, and Print no longer sit on top of each other.

New feature: Stroke Order Practice Sheets
You can now type in kanji and generate a practice sheet with numbered stroke order, readings, and tracing/writing boxes.
Stroke-order data comes from KanjiVG. Readings show only the on'yomi/kun'yomi listed in the official Jōyō Kanji table — rare readings not taught in school (like "mado" for 円 or "shan" for 上) are no longer shown.
Writing and tracing boxes are now made as large as will fit on the page.
When making a sheet with several kanji, the number of characters per page is now spread more evenly.
Where this data comes from, and what has been checked, is explained on the creation screen under "About the stroke-order data" (筆順データについて).

Bigger answer boxes, print confirmation, and paper-size fixes
Answer boxes can now be made larger than the question text (based on feedback after printing a real sheet). The question text itself stays the same size as before.
Before printing, the app now shows a confirmation screen if an answer might be visible elsewhere on the page, or if the answer boxes are too small.
For practice-writing and tracing questions, box columns now line up evenly even when the words have different lengths.
The description for "okurigana" questions now uses a plain-language example instead of just repeating the term.
Reading-hint furigana for fill-in-the-blank questions is now hidden by default (furigana for okurigana questions is still shown as before).
Tidied up the "grade/class" and "date" fields, and the paper-size selector on wide desktop screens.
When "Create your own" is set to practice-writing or tracing, the unused "example sentence" field is now hidden.
Paper-size recommendations for making boxes bigger are now based on an actual measurement rather than a fixed guess. Also fixed an occasional layout issue where text could spill into the neighboring question when there were very many questions.

Smoother experience on iPhone
Fixed an issue where the "Edit / Preview / Answers" bar at the bottom would float awkwardly over the middle of the screen while typing.
Fixed reading-hint text (furigana) overlapping the answer box in Safari.
The print button sometimes did nothing inside in-app browsers (such as LINE or Discord). It now shows a message explaining why, with a suggestion to reopen the page in Safari or Chrome.
For okurigana (verb-ending) questions, entering the kanji and the okurigana in separate fields is now recognized correctly.
The "Create your own" form now shows a short explanation for each question type, so it's clearer what to type into each field.

Section labels, more grade and count options
Added a small "Starting here: ..." label where the question type changes.
Added "Grades 1–2" as a grade option, and "15 questions" as a count option.
Simplified some of the on-screen guidance text.

Pick question types visually
Question types can now be chosen from picture cards showing what the finished sheet looks like.
Improved the look of okurigana and practice-grid questions, and reduced cases where an answer was visible elsewhere on the page.
